Behind every suitcase there is a person and a plan. A guest moving between hotels. A delegate who needs to be at a conference, not queuing for a taxi with two cases. A family trying to enjoy their last day in London. A company that has promised its customer an easy journey. As a luggage courier in London, our job is to look after the part of that plan that involves bags: collecting the right pieces, carrying them with care, handing them to the right person, and keeping everyone informed.
This case study brings together the different kinds of luggage work Selena Courier handles: ongoing managed transfers for international luggage-service partners, help for private travellers, an identical-suitcase exchange, an urgent pre-travel assignment, and the support we can offer business travellers, hotels, theatre, production and event teams. Where we describe our own work, the examples come from separate assignments for different clients, and all identifying details have been removed to protect their confidentiality.

Why Luggage Logistics Is About More Than Transport
Carrying a suitcase across London is not difficult. Getting everything around it right is.
Hotel receptions may need to verify the person collecting a guest’s luggage. Guests often check out of one hotel hours before they can check in at the next. Many suitcases look alike. Flights, meetings and curtain-up times will not wait. And when a hotel, a concierge or a luggage company has made a promise to its customer, the courier carrying the bag is quietly carrying that promise too.
So the real work is coordination. It means knowing exactly what is being collected, from whom and for whom; travelling directly where it matters; keeping people informed without them having to ask; and confirming the handover, so that nobody is left wondering where their belongings are.
Managed Luggage Transfers for Travel-Service Partners
From our work: ongoing transfers for an international luggage-service partner.
Selena Courier supports international luggage-service partners with carefully coordinated London collections, transfers and confirmed handovers.
International luggage and concierge companies look after their customers’ whole journey. In London, the part that happens on the ground needs someone local, careful and accountable. Our work covers collections from hotels, other accommodation and private residences, hotel-to-hotel and accommodation transfers, and deliveries to the next address.
Every movement starts with the details that prevent mistakes later. We confirm how many pieces there are and how each one can be recognised, and the courier checks every item at collection. The luggage then travels directly to its destination and is handed over at reception or in person, as agreed. Throughout, our partner receives live updates, and proof of delivery follows once the handover is complete.
The customer relationship remains with our partner. Our role is to make their promise work on the ground without stepping into their relationship with the traveller.

Private Travellers and Personal Suitcases
Not every luggage problem involves a company. Often it is one person, or one family, who would simply rather not drag a suitcase across London.
We help private travellers with personal suitcase collections and deliveries: from a hotel to a home, from one hotel to another, or from a residence to wherever the next part of the trip begins. Sometimes the luggage needs to travel separately from its owner, because they are heading to a meeting, a lunch or an afternoon in the city first. Sometimes something personal has been forgotten or delayed and needs to catch up. And sometimes a family with children and several cases simply wants the journey to be more comfortable.
What matters in each case is time, comfort and communication: a collection that fits the traveller’s plans, a clear handover, and a message when the luggage has arrived.
The Identical-Suitcase Exchange
From our work: a separate assignment, for a private client.
Someone travelling with a private client collected a suitcase at baggage reclaim that looked identical to their own. It belonged to another passenger. It is an understandable mistake, and nobody was at fault for making it.
Selena Courier helped retrieve and exchange the suitcases so they could be returned to their correct owners. The work called for calm rather than speed: clear communication with the people involved, and certainty about which case was which before anything changed hands.
An Urgent Pre-Travel Assignment
From our work: a separate assignment, for another client, unconnected to the examples above.
A client needed luggage and specialist items ready and delivered before an international journey, and the departure time could not move. The work called for quick coordination, careful handling, direct transport and clear communication, all planned backwards from the travel deadline. The client was ready for departure.
Under pressure, the temptation is to rush. The better approach is to stay calm, agree what has to happen and by when, and handle every item as carefully as if there were all the time in the world.
Conferences and Business Travel
London hosts conferences, exhibitions, corporate events and multi-day business programmes all year round, and the people attending them rarely travel light. A delegate checking out of one hotel on the morning of a conference has a choice: carry their cases all day, or find a way for the luggage to follow them.
As a luggage courier, we can collect a business traveller’s luggage from a hotel and take it to the next hotel or another agreed address, so that they can go straight to the next part of their schedule. The same applies to hotel changes during a longer programme, and to luggage that needs to be ready before an onward connection.
To be clear about our role: we move luggage and items, not people, and we support event teams rather than run their events.
Hotels and Concierge Support
Hotels, concierge teams, serviced accommodation, travel companies and private residences often need a reliable partner for the luggage side of a guest’s stay. We work behind the scenes: collecting from reception or a named person, transferring guest luggage between hotels, residences and other accommodation, and confirming delivery.
As with our travel-service partners, the guest remains our client’s guest. We follow the hotel’s or concierge’s instructions, communicate in the way they prefer, and help them deliver the experience they have promised, without taking over the relationship. Our article on last-minute delivery support for concierge services shows other ways we work with concierge teams, and how couriers support London’s hospitality industry covers the wider hotel picture.
Theatre, Production and Event Teams
Events and productions. Event teams, production staff, exhibitions and temporary venues often need luggage and specialist items moved between hotels, venues and production locations, with collections and returns timed around the programme. Some items are needed before a performance, an event or a departure. Our event logistics case study shows how we plan deliveries into controlled-access venues.
Theatre and wardrobe. As a service capability, Selena can move wardrobe cases, garment bags and specialist items between theatres, studios, rehearsal spaces and accommodation, with the same care and confirmation as any suitcase.

How Selena Courier Manages the Handover
Before collection. We agree the collection and delivery points, the timing, the number of pieces, how each piece can be recognised, and who will hand the luggage over and receive it.
At collection. The courier confirms the number of pieces and checks each item against what was agreed before anything leaves.
On the move. Luggage is loaded with care and, where appropriate, carried directly to its destination as a same-day courier journey with direct handling and no depot in between. The client receives live updates.
At the handover. Luggage is handed over at reception or in person, as agreed, and proof of delivery follows.
When plans change. Flights move, check-in times shift and instructions change. We update the plan, and the courier works from the latest instructions. For time-critical changes, our urgent courier service applies, and our article on proactive courier communication explains why keeping clients informed matters as much as the journey.
Confidentiality
Luggage is personal: clothes, documents, gifts, work and the things people care about most on a trip. We treat it that way, and we treat information about it the same way. Each person in the chain knows only what they need to complete the job. The details of who is travelling, where and when stay with the client. When we work for another company, its customers remain its customers, looked after on its terms.
That is why the examples in this article are anonymised, and why the photographs show Selena’s own team rather than any client or traveller.
Who the Service Suits
- International luggage-service and travel companies that need a careful London delivery partner
- Hotels, concierge teams and serviced accommodation arranging luggage for guests
- Private travellers and families who would rather not carry luggage across London
- Business travellers and conference delegates moving between hotels and schedules
- Event, production and theatre teams moving luggage, wardrobe and specialist items
- Anyone whose luggage needs to arrive separately, urgently or with particular care
Conclusion
A routine hotel transfer, a suitcase exchange and an urgent pre-travel job have little in common on the surface. Underneath, they need the same things: one accountable partner, the right pieces collected, a careful and direct journey, people kept informed, a confirmed handover and calm when something unexpected happens. Get those right, and the suitcase stops being something anyone has to think about. That, in the end, is the point.
